Diagnosis of novel forest ecosystems in Spain

This project assesses the status of Novel Forest Ecosystems through a multilevel diagnostic to identify priorities that reduce environmental risks and uncover opportunities for their restoration and the enhancement of ecosystem services.

Aims of DINOFORES

Distribution of non-native trees in Spain

We will update maps of non-native trees in Spain from different information sources.

Future trajectories of novel forest ecosystems

We will analyse the successional trajectories at community level of novel forest ecosystems.

Comparing health of novel forest ecosystems and native forests

We will develop forest health indicators based on functional, structural, regenerative, productivity, resilience, and disturbance criteria.
